When we first moved into our home, finishing our bedroom was my #1 priority. If you recall from a previous post, I put together a mood board for inspiration to help me visualize what I wanted it to look like. Our bedroom is not very big so I actually ended up selling our old bed and dresser because it wouldn’t fit in our new room. Furniture, however, ended up being the least of our troubles as painting, replacing the floors, replacing the light fixtures, gutting and building a new closet, installing new doors, and removing the popcorn ceilings took precedence! The work that went into this makeover was grueling, took many weeks, and many William Singe covers were obliterated in the process. But we are SO HAPPY with how it turned out! We kept everything very light and minimal, in terms of color and furnishings, to maintain a serene ambiance. It’s crazy to think this room once housed bright pink walls and a rainbow chandelier (‘before’ picture listed below) and now it’s our peaceful oasis where we eat pizza in bed and binge watch Netflix. My favorite part about our bedroom is all of the meaningful pieces we hung on our walls – like the signs I made that read ‘Goodnight” in Hmong and “Good Morning” in Cantonese. Of course our favorite thing, probably in the entire house, is a letter my mom wrote to Tommy which we had blown up and framed for our room.

Hi Emily! My bedroom dimensions are 15 x 12!
Hello,
Your bedroom looks terrific. Please reveal what is supporting your headboard?
Hi! My headboard is part of a bedframe!
Your bedroom is simply gorgeous! Loved the overall effect but standout items were the bench (with cushions beneath), the refinished dresser and mirror atop (love those touches of gold!), the framed pictures (love the one of you and your husband!) and your queen chair. Everything came together so cohesively but it looks like a real bedroom, not a cold showpiece.
This is so kind! Thank you so much!
Beautiful room. I’m also decorating a small master bedroom and was curious about your side tables! Where did you find them?
Hi! I got them from Homegoods 🙂
where is that dresser from?
Hi! If you’re talking about the white dresser with gold details it was actually a FB Marketplace find and then I DIY’d it! I have a post on it 🙂
